Competition Team Policy
Enrolling as part of Elevate Ballet Company and Stage Company competition team will bring many exciting opportunities to the dancer. There will be an opportunity to compete at local, national/international competitions and championships. There may periodically be the opportunity to perform at events representing Elevate Ballet and Stage Company. Being a part of our competition team will bring many benefits and create many amazing friendships, life experiences and memories. However, before joining the competition team it is important for the dancer and their parent to fully understand the financial and time commitment and should not be a decision made lightly. Dancers who can not commit to the demands of the competition team will still be offered industry level training and supported to achieve their goals.
Any Dancer who joins our competition team must follow the team rules which are in place to ensure that we can support the children to have the very best experience in a safe, nurturing and happy environment. The dancer and their responsible parent/guardian must agree to abide by the following code of conduct.
Be supportive, kind and considerate of your team mates and dancers from other teams. Whilst we understand it is competition and dancers wish to do their personal best, at Elevate Ballet Company, we encourage a team approach therefore if one dancer does well we all do well. No unhealthy competitiveness either within the team or towards other schools/dancers will be tolerate. Whilst a trophy or medal is nice ist our personal journey and improvements as a team which should be celebrated.

All children attending competitions, championships, events must wear Elevate Ballet Company official uniform and be well groomed at all times.
Be committed to their team, attend all their classes and be on time.
Children in the competition team will practice regularly at home and will be supported by parents to do so. Children will be given corrections within their class and it is expected that they continue to work on these at home, including stretching and conditioning.
Be polite, courteous and considerate to their teammates and their teachers. Older dancers must remember they are a role model to younger, aspiring dancers.
Children smoking, using Vapes, alcohol or illicit drugs in any class or at any event will not be tolerated. Any child caught using any of these, at any time will be suspended from classes.
All Class, competition and event fees must be paid on time. Any Competition fees not paid on time will result in the dancer not being entered for the event. If any parent is experiencing difficulty then this should be discussed with Miss Rebekah at the earliest opportunity.
Parent must understand that competition fees are paid in advance to the event organiser. Once the dancer is entered and the fee paid there is no refund. Should the dancer not be able to attend or compete for any reason then the fee will not be refunded. Elevate Ballet Company will not take any responsibility for this and will not refund event fees.
Requirements of the comp team
All children who wish to compete must attend the following classes per week.
At least one ballet technique Class
Jazz technique
Stretch and conditions (5 and over)
Competition Class (5 and over)
Progressing Ballet Technique (6 years plus)
x1 private lesson per week.
Taking a regular ballet class is essential to develop the correct technique and is the essential foundation for all dance styles. We will prioritise ballet class and whilst it will be a requirement that the competition team take at least one ballet technique class, it is hoped they will take more.
Children can only compete with routines they are taking class in.
If a dancer has been selected for a troupe, small, group, trio or duet then they must attend all rehearsals, classes and competitions. Its is extremely difficult to re- block routines where there are missing dancers and is unfair on team mates. We understand there may be times that the dancers is unable to attend for circumstances outside their control. However, should more than one event be missed then Miss Rebekah reserves the right to remove them from that routine.
Children on the competition team will be expected to attend any workshops/boot camps which are provided by Elevate Ballet Company during school holidays
Attending external associate programmes and workshops by industry recognised professionals will be encouraged and supported. However, these are intended to be in addition to their regular and consistent training and not instead of. If regular classes are missed to attend additional associate programmes will remain payable.
If regular classes are missed constituently then it will remain at the discretion of principle if they can continue on the competition team.
